Can you believe it's already December and we are in the last month of the year? I can not!!! This year has probably been one of the fastest to go by. It's truly been an amazing year though full of learning, growth, and business. I'm loving every minute of it and I am so very blessed. But, ok let me hop off that wagon as I was here to tell you about preparing for the new year haha!
Have you started thinking about 2020? I really hope you have as it's a time to start planning out what you want to do in your business. Do you want to change some things up, add things that will help you run smoother, or maybe you are a new entrepreneur about to launch your new business?
Regardless, it's important to look at your marketing plan. Do you have a plan in place for how you are going to market your services or product?
Here are my top tips on composing or editing a Marketing Plan:
1) Know Who Your Target Customer Is
This is so crucial yet so many are not sure. Have you heard of the word avatar? Basically, it's creating the image and persona of your ideal customer. What pain points do they have? What do they like to do? What products are their favorite? What age are they? What location do they reside? What are their passions? and the list goes on...
You need to know who your target audience is so you can talk to them. Your posts, blogs, stories, lives, and everything regarding your marketing online should be geared as if you were having a conversation with them face to face.
2) Figure Out All the Details
You need to touch on a few things for your plan. This doesn't have to be fancy or anything. You just need to sit down and write out a few major things so you have a game plan. Some things to include in your marketing plan are:
*Target Customer (mentioned right above)
*Goals
*Budget
*Ads or Promotions
*Product or Service Launches
*Social Media
*Other Marketing (if you plan to do other marketing such as newspaper, events, podcast, magazine, etc)
3) Take a Look at Your Content
Have you heard that content is king? Well Jesus Christ is King but content is so very important in marketing. Take a look at what content has worked best for your business and repurpose it!
Get a calendar out, a sheet of paper, notes on your phone, or even your computer and start jotting down content ideas. I like a great mix of personal, business, encouraging, fun, and some behind the scenes type stuff too. Get an idea of what you should do in stories/lives and then post ideas. This will help you to get a better idea of your content, what your audience likes, and make this apart of your marketing plan!
If you need help with your content and need some fresh and new ideas, you can always reach out to me and I'd be happy to offer you an affordable package to do just this!
4) Build Relationships with Your Marketing
Collaboration is key on this! Do you love a brand and they are a loyal customer? If so, collaborate with them. See what they will offer to help you with and vice versa and this is great marketing and great to have in your marketing plan! I love collaboration and it can truly be an advantage in marketing. Even if a business shares your post or information about your business that is advertising! You are then shown to all of their followers which can help you! Don't you love that?
5) Solve a Problem
Make sure to include in your marketing plan what you are going to solve! Whether you have a product or a service that someone needs, you have to help them solve that problem. Speak to your target customer/client and speak to their needs to show you can help solve the problem. THIS IS ESSENTIAL in your marketing!

These are my favorite tips on creating a marketing plan that will surely get your business ready for 2020 and future! If you follow all of these steps your plan will be ready and ready to put into action. Don't let it be super complicated....keep it simple so it makes sense to you and you can execute it!
Also, let me just add one more thing please! If you are looking to outsource your marketing and/or blogging this year or looking to be on a different platform and not familiar....then give us a chance to talk with you about what we can offer you. To check out our services, go here.
