Wanting to jump on my blog and share more with you so here we go. This past weekend I was given an amazing opportunity to go speak and share social media marketing with 13 different nanny agencies. It was really a fun experience as well as rewarding. I drove two hours away to a beautiful location on the coast to meet up with these agencies and got to share social media marketing, Pinterest, and blogging with all of them at this beautiful home.
It was super fun and rewarding. I got to speak to 3-5 ladies at a time and share all the ins and outs of marketing and answer any questions they had. After two hours of presentations, we ate some lunch and chatted. This is when I was able to talk to a few agencies in more depth. Next was a session where I sat in and listened to some of their business tips and principles. SUPER good stuff! As I left there I also felt refreshed and excited about new things I could implement too at Spread the Message Marketing.
I wanted to share the 3 biggest takeaways I have from speaking at this event and another in the past as well.

๐. ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐-- this should be a no brainer one but really make sure you have everything together. If you are taking laptops, phones, or any other technology make sure you troubleshoot before you arrive and give yourself enough time to set up in case of any tech issues before it starts.
I also like to make sure I have any printed materials ready too. For this past weekend, I created a brochure on tips for the agencies and then a brochure on my services. I created the pdf file and then took it to my local print shop and had them professionally printed which looked way better than my printer at home ๐
๐. ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ ๐๐ฅ๐ฌ๐จ ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐- so I fully believe in going over your presentation, speech, etc. so you are familiar with it and can expect the order of the presentation but also you have to be yourself while trying to present. I always get a little nervous right when I start but I know that it will soon pass and it will be ok! Honestly from speaking experiences and even when I worked in school, you can't prepare for every single comment or question that arises. Be confident in your material and your answers so your expertise can shine through!
๐. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ค ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ค ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฌ- this is a great opportunity to get to know other business owners or whoever you are speaking to. You are able to listen to the areas of their business that are working super well for them and what they are struggling with.
Ask questions about a service or product you are thinking of releasing and get honest feedback. I was able to take a question to a few agencies and get their input and feedback that is super helpful for my research this past weekend.
I also stayed for their "fishbowl" session and learned a lot from the agencies on how they run their businesses and found it super helpful. We are all learning as we go and can grow through listening and implementing new practices from a retreat or speaking event.
So I encourage you to speak at as many events as you can because it honestly helps you grow in so many ways as well as help you see areas of improvement in your own business or tips to help make it run smoother. Plus, you build relationships with people who may become very important in your business or even a potential client or customer too.
